The Team

Founders and co-owners, Mike Woolhouse and Paul Stockdale are experienced VCE PE teachers who have assisted students to exceed their expectations in the subject. Both have achieved outstanding results and now want to share their expertise with teachers and students across Victoria.

Growing for our Community

abcPE was built on the belief that all VCE students and teachers deserve access to the best teaching and learning tools to help them excel. That belief was first implemented with VCE Physical Education, and it's now expanding into VCE Health and Human Development.
Teachers and students can expect the same level of quality and expertise in VCE HHD that they've come to trust in VCE PE.

“We've partnered with two of Victoria's finest HHD teachers to ensure our HHD Resources meet the same benchmark of quality and teaching excellence that defines the abcPE brand. From Practice SAC Tasks and Practice Exams to student revision Webinars, everything we produce for HHD is built with one goal in mind: helping students perform at their best.”

Paul Stockdale

Paul Stockdale is an experienced VCE PE teacher with a passion for the Unit 3-4 course. Across his 25+ year career, 40% of his students have achieved study scores of 40 or above, including 50s. Paul was the VCAA Assistant Chief Assessor and Examination Writer for Unit 3-4 PE in 2011 and 2012. He is a current VCAA PE Exam Asessor and tutors students at several schools in Melbourne.

"I love this subject and think that I can convey my passion to all of my students so that they enjoy and engage with the subject. I begin with the big picture but focus on the important parts of the course that I know through experience will be assessed. Providing precise detail in these areas, allows my students to access high study scores."

Michael Woolhouse

Michael Woolhouse loves helping people. The reason his students do well in VCE PE is he is passionate and knowledgeable but he also invests in knowing how his students best learn. In the last 3 years, Michael has had over 50% of his students achieve study scores of 40 or above at an amazing class average of 40. Michael is a current VCAA PE exam assessor, PE tutor and Head of Health and PE.

“I love seeing kids do their best and then getting rewarded for it. When it finally clicks for them, it’s a real thrill seeing the smiles on their faces. That’s why I love this job, because kids can get a real sense of achievement by sticking with the sometimes difficult concepts of VCE PE, and then truly understanding these concepts.”

Kym Willett

Kym Willett brings over 25 years of experience in HHD education, currently teaching VCE HPE at Mentone Grammar where she has built a consistent record of strong student outcomes. A VCAA HHD Assessor since 2016, Kym has contributed to statewide assessment design and curriculum reform — giving her a firsthand understanding of what examiners are looking for. She is also a published co-author of multiple Jacaranda Health and Physical Education textbooks and a sessional academic at Australian Catholic University.

“I am passionate about working collaboratively with students and teachers to build confidence, skills and a genuine interest in Health and Human Development. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences that empower students to achieve their best while developing the knowledge and health literacy they can apply in everyday life. Supporting both students and colleagues to grow in confidence, curiosity and capability is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.”

Jenna Oliver

Jenna Oliver is a secondary HPE teacher with over 15 years in the classroom and 8 years of specialist experience teaching Unit 3 & 4 HHD. A VCAA Exam Assessor for Unit 3/4 HHD in 2023, Jenna brings a rare combination of classroom expertise and firsthand assessment knowledge. She is also a facilitator for the TAC Road to Zero VCE Unit 3/4 HHD Immersive Program — one of the most impactful real-world learning initiatives available to HHD students in Victoria.

I enjoy sharing HHD knowledge with students, supporting them to find their interests and achieve their best. Watching students learn with curiosity, joy and success is a real privilege. I also love building students' confidence, skills and health literacy in HHD to use in everyday life or pursue as a career pathway.”
